Abstract

1. Bactericidal effect of physol (made in Korea) to Gram-negative bacteria was similar to the effect of pHisoHex(made in U.S.A.) and Cresol(made in U.S.A.)
2. Germicidal effect of physol to Gram-positive bacteria was 4 to 32 fold and 100-200 fold stronger than pHisoHex and Cresol, respectively.
3. Physol showed complete germicidal action in 2 minutes to Gram-positive bacteria but no bactericidal effect in 5 minutes to Gram-nagative bacteria.
4. Combined germicidal and washing effect of Physol was superior to the pHisoHex and Cresol. Physol disinfected contaiminated hands with Grampositive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria employed in 2 and 3 minutes, respectively.
